Community Consultations - FCT Economic Empowerment and Development Strategy (FEEDS)
This project focused on tapping the voices of ordinary Nigerian in the six Area Councils of the Federal Capital Territory under the National Economic Empowerment and Development Strategy (NEEDS) to inform development planning that is needs driven. It made use of participatory tools such as scorecard to assess achievements of the Federal Capital Development Administration (FCDA) in service provisioning. In combination with Participatory Learning and Action (PLA) and Theatre for Development (TFD), community members articulated their needs, concerns. They also prioritized their needs for the Area Councils to consider in the annual development plans and budget.

Outcomes/Achievements
- The consultations contributed to democratizing the development process.
- Community members found voice in the process of scoring the performance of the FCDA.
- The priorities from the community stirred a healthy debate between civil servant technocrats, Councillors and challenged their taken-for-granted positions that they understood the problems of the communities in their domain.
